Wintoad-DISH- Guide

A How-To Set Up Dish-Wintoad Emulation

Step 1

First of all, download Dish-Wintoad from the files section for Dishnetwork. I have set a Dish Wintoad file up that has the DP380 bin that you will need to use to make a "eeprom.bin" for Wintoad to run. Also you will need a program called NagraEdit 3 to edit the DP380 bin to create a eeprom.bin. Unzip the Dish-Wintoad program into the c:\ and name the directory Wintoad. One more program you will need is RomTierMaker118b to select the tiers you will want. With the current Ecm in the stream I would advise to not choose to many locals and ppv. Download romtiermaker118b and open it up and select your channels for the satellite you are pointed too. 110 & 119 are the main sats most people use for Dish500 setup considering these are the 2 sats you can only get with the dual lnb's.

After you have selected the tiers you will want to view and if you want PPV in, click on the Add PPV String and you will notice it gives you ppv string, purchase date and so on. Now after that is complete, click on the Continue button and you will get a confirm box that will pop up asking you "To Create NE3 for Import Into NagraEdit Click 'Yes' or Click 'No' To Create Bin or ini." Click on the YES button to create a NE3 script and call it anything and save it to the Wintoad directory.

Step 2

Open up NagraEdit 3 and go to FILE than Open File Image than go to the Wintoad folder you unzipped and select the DN380 bin in the folder and click the OPEN button than a little box will pop up showing 3 radio buttons Rom2, Rom3, Rom10. The dot should be on Rom3 set by default and that will be the one you will want to use and click the OK button. After you pressed the OK button you should see this on your screen in NagraEdit3

Now after that is showing on your screen, at the top you will see a bunch of tabs all lined up. Click on the Data Editor tab and type in your IRD# in hex code, in order to get a hex number of your IRD# you will have to go into Windows Calculator and make sure it is set to Scientific Mode and to get the hex code of the IRD#R00 xxxx xxxx-00 you will want to put in the numbers that I have displayed with XX's into the calculator and than press on the HEX Dot in Windows Calculator than it will display a Hex code. Now the Hex Code has to be 8 characters long if you have 6 or 7 Characters in your hex, you will need to add a "0" "Zero or Zeros" at the beginning of the hex code to make 8 characters. Now after you have that hex code in on the first line in Data Editor, next line you see will be where your Boxkeys will go in, now you don't have to worry about putting your boxkeys in Windows Calculator considering they are already hex'd for you. Now after you have IRD# (Hex) and Boxkeys in now enter in your Time Zone and last of all, enter in a zipcode for the locals you chosed in RomTierMaker, if you didn't want any locals in than don't worry about zipcode.

Step 3

Next step, click on the Patch Editor in NagraEdit and click on the folder that says Open Patch beside it and if you saved that NE3 script into the Wintoad directory select the NE3 script and than click on the OPEN button. To remind you that the NE3 script is what you created when you had RomTierMaker open and you saved your tiers as a NE3 file. Now after you have clicked on the OPEN button after you selected the NE3 script you should get some stuff that will come up on the screen in NagraEdit and will look something like this.

After something like this comes up on your screen, go to FILE, SAVE CARD IMAGE, and a window will pop up and choose the Wintoad directory and have the file name as "eeprom.bin" without quotes and where it says SAVE AS FILETYPE, have that set to ALL FILES than click on the SAVE button to save it to the Wintoad Directory.

Step 4

We are almost finished, we need to create a .BAT file to make Wintoad run a bit easier for you so Wintoad will run automatically instead of going through the directorys and typing in the commands through dos to make it run. Now we will put this file on your Desktop and will show you how to create a .BAT file. Make a text document by Right Clicking on your Desktop and go to NEW than Text Document than what you want to type in the text document will be in this photo below.

After you have that into a text document, go to FILE, SAVE AS, FileName: DishWintoad.bat, and for where it says Save As Type: ALL FILES than click on the Save Button, remember to save this to your Desktop. Now if everything has gone correctly and you double click on the DishWintoad.bat file on your desktop you should see this pop up.

Now if this screen comes up for a quick second than disappears than you will have to Right Click on the .BAT file you made and go to EDIT and make sure the name of the directorys are correct, a small spelling mistake will make this screen only stay up for a second so make sure your spelling is correct and also make sure the Wintoad directory is in the C:\. Now you are all set to run Wintoad Emulation.
