Dishnewbies Rules, Please Read
Welcome to the Dishnewbies forum. Please take a couple of minutes to familiarize yourself with the rules of this forum so you can use this resource to it's fullest potential and to make your experience here a memorable one for all the right reasons.
1) The opinions, decisions, and actions of the Dishnewbie Administrator and the Dishnewbie Moderation Team will ALWAYS take precedents. In the case of any altercation, circumstance, situation or misunderstanding, the view point of the forum Administrator and/or any of the forum Moderators will be overriding and final. If in any doubt, this rule will supersede any other.
2) Off limit topics. Other than the obvious topics that might be viewed as offensive to others, there are two underlining topics that are off limits here in the Dishnewbies forum. DTV topics/discussions are prohibited. If you wish to engage in DTV discussions, please visit one of the many forums available on the Internet that specialize in DTV. If you have a comment/concern with regard to DTV, please contact one of the Forum Moderators via PM (Private Message) to assist you.
3) All postings on this forum will be moderated. ALL posts, messages, uploaded images and uploaded files are subject to moderation and are deemed appropriate/inappropriate by the forum Administrator and forum Moderators. Anything posted or uploaded onto the Dishnewbie site that break forum rules and/or is deemed inappropriate by the forum Administrator or the Moderation Team will be deleted without warning.
4) No flaming or inappropriate behaviour permitted (i.e. name calling, swearing, offensive arguing, etc.). Dishnewbies is a site where testers of ALL skill levels can come to ask for assistance or provide assistance free from harassment, ridicule, and belittlement. Inappropriate conduct in the forum is (1) not permissible and (2) not tolerated by the regular membership!
5) Do your homework first! To open up all of the channels on your system and to protect yourself from counter measures from the satellite company requires a fair bit of learning. Do not hesitate to post a question, but in order to interpret or understand the help you receive from the membership requires learning on your part (i.e. read the Newbie Guides in the Files Section and use the Search feature to assist).
6) No double/multiple posting. Do not post the same question, message, image or file more than once, whether it is in the same forum or in multiple forums (i.e. do not post a question in the BEV Newbie Forum, then post the same question in the BEV Advanced Forum). Only once is sufficient.
7) Use the Report button correctly! Inside of each post you will see a Report button. This button is only used to report problems with the website and to report violations of forum rules. Do not use this button to ask for help...you will not get a reply.
8) SOLICITING, SPAMMING and VISITING DEALERS. The following are some general guidelines on how the forum will be moderated. If there is any misunderstanding or any doubt whatsoever, contact a member of our Dishnewbie Moderation Team for further clarification.
- Members are not permitted to use the forum to sell/barter items or services. Dishnewbies is not a flee market!
- Our PM (Private Messages) or e-mailing systems cannot be used for spamming. Our members come to Dishnewbies to continue their hobby...not to be solicited or spammed.
General Rule: If you have an item or service for sale and the member that you're PMing or e-mailing is not expecting you to contact them...DON'T.
9) No linking to websites that have products or services for sale (unless it is a site sponsor). Linking is permitted as long as the site you link to is not selling anything.
10) Use proper on-line etiquette when posting. Please do not post in ALL CAPS or use excessive exclamation marks!!!!!!!!
11) Use appropriate Avatars and Signature Lines. The forum Administrator and the Dishnewbie Moderation Team reserves the right to moderate all Avatars and Signature Lines.
12) No bashing of dealers/sellers or of products and devices. Simply, we do not need to hear or see threads that have the single purpose of discrediting the seller or device.
Our goal is to make Dishnewbies a valuable resource for everyone who visits. Members who chose to violate forum rules will be subject to disciplinary action. Members could face:
- Warning(s) from the forum Administrator or Dishnewbie Moderation Team.
- Moderator approval of all postings.
- Suspension of posting privileges.
- Retraction of posting privileges.
- Suspension of membership status.
- Banishment from the Dishnewbie Forum.
Disciplinary action in each circumstance/incident will be determined by the Dishnewbie Administrator and/or the Dishnewbie Moderation Team. In the case of any misunderstanding, please see Rule number 1.
Following these simple rules will ensure that Dishnewbies remains one of the top testing sites on the Internet when it comes to assisting members in a worm, inviting, and helpful environment that is consistent with the true Dishnewbie style.
